No matter what the circumstance, we always have the choice of our response! Before you respond take a breath or two. Stress causes most human beings to slow / or stop breathing! The brain needs 50% more oxygen to think optimally, so we not only don’t feed our muscles and ligaments with oxygen, we become momentarily less intelligent! Remember the feeling of shoulders tightening up?
EMPOWER yourself and the next time you feel stress coming on – take a few mindful breaths and you will respond in a calmer and more intelligent manner. Drop the shoulders and use your oxygen. You will find it very helpful in handling situations….and great for your body, brains, and relaxation! HONEST!
