Come on – Your thoughts on this and the last post, please!

Associated Press

Obama was asked about what help is available to Americans who are still making their mortgage payments but are struggling. He replied that his administration has made it easier for Americans to refinance. He says 40 percent of mortgages are now eligible for refinancing. And he said homeowners need to take advantage of that.

My question is: Why can’t I, as a homeowner who makes payments, get the advantage of a no interest, low fee refinance that those in foreclosure get?

Obama said the only reason he had been elected president was because of the education he received, in large part through scholarships and his family’s sacrifice. Obama graduated from Columbia University and Harvard Law School.

My thought on this is: A billon dollars was of some assistance in winning the election.
That was the cost.

Obama says when it comes to making sure returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan have the support they need, government can’t do the job alone. He says communities and churches need to reach out to veterans and celebrate their return, and that businesses need to make jobs available to them.

My thought: Why can we give money to other countries and to bailout corporations and Wall Street and there isn’t enough money to help our own vets from the government? The government could afford the cost of continuing war efforts and rebuilding other countries.

“The president is going back to the safe confines he was always most comfortable with, in this case a friendly audience where the focus is on the sale rather than the substance,” GOP strategist Kevin Madden said.

Associated Press writers Anne Flaherty, Pauline Jelinek and Robert Burns contributed to this report.

The plan also strongly backs a recommendation to increase aid to Pakistan, conditioned on improvements in that government’s handling of militants in the border region, officials said. The plan would triple humanitarian aid to $1.5 billion a year for five years. It would tie military aid to performance, with a specific caution that Pakistan must cut government ties with insurgents.

Last year, then-Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., and Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., proposed legislation that would triple humanitarian spending in Pakistan to $1.5 billion a year, but threaten to cut military aid unless Islamabad does more to fight terrorists.

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., who took over from now-Vice President Biden as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said he planned to introduce an updated version of the measure.

The legislation would specifically authorize $7.5 billion to be spent in the next five years for development, such as building schools, roads and clinics.

Question: Why was it again the government can’t help our veterans? Why is there so little dedicated to make our own borders safe? Why is the Red Cross begging for
help to continue their good works all over this country and the world?

One last question, and this one is for Hillary: Why is AMERICA to blame for the drug problem? EVERYONE KNOWS the drugs were brought in illegally by cartels from Mexico and southward. What’s up with that?

Oh yes, I remember – Middle class Americans are to blame for EVERYTHING!

Now I will take a breath and let it all go. I am sending a tea bag to Washington though. See below (sent to me by a friend).

Please join me and many more thousands and send this message to the corruption that walks the Halls of Congress………..A.Hahn,lawrenceburg,tn 38464

I’ve got my tea bag ready to MAIL OUT APRIL 1ST!!!
It’s such a small thing, but could have major impact.
I hope you all will join in and forward to folks in your address book.
Please remove all email addresses prior to forwarding

There’s a storm abrewin’. What happens when good, responsible people keep quiet? Washington has forgotten they work for us. We don’t work for them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer.

I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan.

I am sick of Congress raking CEO’s over the coals while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes.

I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar.

I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly, bought more house than they could afford.

I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes.

I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen. I pay my taxes. I live on a budget and I don’t ask someone else to carry the burden for poor decisions I may make. I have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without reading it first. No one listened. They voted for it, pork and all.

O.K. folks, here it is. You may think you are just one voice and what you think won’t make a difference. Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!!

If you are disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes. If you are fearful of the fallout from the reckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and “stimulate” without accountability and responsibility then we need to become ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA.

There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the American Citizens. What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall..

So, here’s the plan.
On April 1, 2009, all Americans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washington , D.C. You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire. Just a TEABAG.
Many cities are organizing protests. If you simply search, “New American Tea Party”, several sites will come up.
If you aren’t the ‘protester’ type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.

Why, April 1??

We want them to reach Washington by April 15.
Send it to:
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington , D.C. 20500

Can’t guarantee what the postage will be by then, it is going up as we speak, but have your envelope ready. What will this cost you? A little time and a 42 or 44 cent stamp.

What could you receive in benefits? Maybe, just maybe, our elected officials will start to listen to the people. Take out the Pork. Tell us how the money is being spent. We want TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY.

Remember, the money will be spent over the next 4-5 years. It is not too late.
