My dog had to be put down!

Yes I am in mourning for my Buck – my old friend of 12 years! If it sounds silly to mourn a pet, then you are not an animal lover, nor have you ever had the pleasure of the company of a good dog for a number of years. I know women have a tendency to treat animals like children-but so what!

My dog was a protector when my husband was gone, great on walks in the woods, never judged my appearance or if I was mad, he consoled me when I was sad, we played and took trips, and was by my side just like a child. I will miss him terribly.

When my computer gave me a fit Buck snuggled under my right arm and looked up at me. I couldn’t help but calm down and be soothed.

We never know what’s next in this lifetime. We take things for granted! In a moment everything can change so use your moments wisely and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Speaking of which, right now would be a good time to leave your computer, if just for a few minutes, and tell someone you love them – or hug them!

I’m so sorry to hear you lost your baby. They are family- not pets.

Thank you so much. You are 100% correct. I spent 12 years with that friend right by my side. I can only be grateful for the time and know the old buddy is totally out of pain! What a gift they are to us.
