What are you grateful for today

Well first of all I am grateful that my daughter finally told me I was spelling grateful wrong (greatful). Sometimes the English language mystifies me.

As I was driving to Folsom to spend the weekend with my husband, who is living in our RV so he can work. No work at home for sure. He is working Saturday so instead of him driving home for a day and a half, I decided to come here.

It was pouring rain when I left the house this morning. After a while it stopped raining and the sky was just filled with dark clouds. I got to thinking – at this point in my life, and I am quite a bit older than I feel 😦 just what am I grateful for today.

I am sick of bitching about “the way things are”, even if it’s just to release the negative. Besides, it changes nothing!

I am grateful for the multitude of flowers and that every human being is unique!

I am grateful for hard rain that moistens the earth and makes everything glisten and smell so fresh. I am grateful that my heart hasn’t hardened according to the way of the world. I am grateful for the love of my husband, and the love of my children.

I am grateful for the way the wind, though invisible, makes the leaves in the trees flurry into a song of movement. I am grateful that every once in a while someone does or says something kind, particularly when it’s unexpected.

I am grateful for my legs and arms. Grateful for my dogs who were wonderful friends and company. I am grateful for learning from my mistakes and not wallowing in them for my entire life.

I am grateful for clouds that fill the sky, so white and puffy. Grateful for men and women willing to sacrifice their lives to protect us. The military, police and firemen sometimes get bad press, but the majority don’t deserve it. They deserve accolades; as do those who return home with lifelong injuries.

I am grateful that music still touches my soul and heart, and starts my foot tapping.
I am grateful for so many miraculous things that are in our lives daily, that we often take for granted.

I am grateful for miracles that happen, and the knowledge of the power we have to help heal our minds and bodys.

I could go on and on! I am grateful for arriving at my destination safely

What I am the most grateful for is the knowledge from within, that has blossomed though out my life, that God truly exists. I believe His Spirit was placed within each child, and that He has given us the power of CHOICE. God has not ever failed.
We simply have made wrong choices. We have the power to choose what we know in our intellect and intuition what is right, or what is wrong.

I am so grateful He has forgiven me for all my mistakes – big and small!
I am grateful, too, for my internet friends and the privilege of sharing my thoughts and writing.

CREATE a wonderful day. Here are a couple of photos for your pleasure, I hope!

im grateful that God gives me the strength to stand up and not give into the drinking habits of my fellow college goers, and knowing that someday, there will be a better place than now

I am grateful for your decision to not give in and God helping you too! Every GIANT mistake I made in my lifetime involved drinking – and I am not kidding!
I believe our true spirit leaves us and another radical one steps in. Honestly, sooner or later, even moderate drinkers I’ve known have been snagged by alcohol.
It’s sneaky. I am still paying (in my heart) for my mistakes!

My daughter skipped the alcohol in college while every one else did, and she got her masters degree and makes fabulous money-and is a happy puppy!

Seriously, I am PROUD of you because it’s not easy. Everyone who drinks is just dying to weaken your position so you can be in their realm. But you have the relentless power of God on your side. When you weaken take a breath and say a prayer!

There are countless things we can be grateful for, but so many people refuse to see the good in our day to day life.

It’s so easy to get down and focus on all that has went wrong, or all things they have missed out on.

I wake-up every morning thankful to I can get out of bed by myself and walk.
I’m thankful to have a job….no matter how much I may hate it at times, there are hundreds of thousands of people worldwide that wish they had a job.

Thanks for a blog that makes me think about life.

You are so welcome. It warms my heart to have your comments. I think the media, in part, is to blame for all the negative thoughts that run wildly in the minds of so many people. Afterall, “it sells” – and makes money. What a shame as there are millions of stories that are happy and successful. Have a wonderful day!
