Relax, it's just Life!

I took these photos from the seat of my car – no fancy camera, very little zoom.  Coming home from our trip over Thanksgiving we saw them close to the side road exit.  Bless my husband’s heart. He turned around and we pulled off the road to sit, in silence, in wonder of these magnificent Elk.

These creatures are one of the largest species of the deer family (in the world. ) Male elk have large antlers which are shed each year.

Hunters know as a game species; the meat is leaner and higher in protein than beef or chicken.  It is delicious too, as I have eaten an elk steak – HOWEVER – I would rather just enjoy them through photography!
