I am really sick and tired of all this talk about racism in the United States. I do not see how we can have a Mulatto president (no one ever says this but he is as much white as black, and that is called a Mulatto), a billionaire hostess for television (Oprah), sports and newscasters, movie stars, scientists, athletes, musicians, educators, mayors and other politicians, etc. etc. etc. and be such a racist country! I am not just talking about black – but Mexican, Asian and all other people originally from a different culture.
When you are born an American or become an American, or strive to become an American – then you are AMERICAN first, with individual “heritage” next = American African, American Mexican, American whatever!
We are a nation of mixed cultures, and if I do say so, whatever combination mixed seems to be quite nice combinations!
KEEP THE PEASANTS divided! That is what this is all about. If a people is divided it makes them powerless to have an uprising, or be any real problem for those “in charge” (politicians, bankers, and the fast growing monopolies).
They become just workers. You don’t have to stand united as a people to work 70 to 90 hours a week!
The PROBLEM, as I see it, IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN poverty and lack of REAL education. Poverty causes a multitude of problems.
Do I have answers? Not really. Prayers, anything I am able to do within the realm of my world, and perhaps sharing my thoughts with those of you who enjoy my blogs.
I don’t care for Oprah myself, and I have strong reasons for that – but truth be told – I don’t KNOW Oprah and I am no one’s judge! She did rise from poverty and sexual abuse, to a woman with power and money. It can be done.
Lastly for today, FYI, I am tired of being blamed for everything. I was born white (actually I am a mutt) and have a mixed heritage. I look white. I had NOTHING to do with what happened over 100 years ago. I believe in loving and kindness. I am no man or woman’s judge, and when I “select” people to hang with (and I am particular) – it has NOTHING, ZIP, NADA to do with culture or heritage. I want to spend my time with people who are loving, kind, curious, intelligent (that doesn’t always mean educated), funny, and very spiritual!
As a little additional factoid – it was the Portuguese who first used slaves from Africa. The people in America were the last to use humans for slaves. Did you know their own countrymen (Africans) sold the first slaves and many thereafter! The black man was the first to sell black men!
So lighten up everyone. The deal is to love the heart and spirit- and that comes in many colors!

YES. I am so tired of being called racist just because I’m a middle class caucasian with an unpopular opinion. Every person I encounter in life starts with the same level of my respect. There are ways to lose my respect, but none of them include the pigmentation of ones skin, whom you chose to marry, or how much money is in your bank account.

Thank you for your comments. I agree 100%! I was middle class – I think I’ve been demoted to lower middle right now! (haha). Have a beautiful day.

Interesting post. If one looks at any anthropology text book, one will find that the concept of race does not exist. It is not a scientific term because variation exists within each ethnicity.. Why do people feel the need to assign labels to others simply because their physical characteristics may differ from theirs?

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate that new information. Very interesting. A good question..why do people need to assign labels? It must be a human trait or terrible insecurity! God help us (truly) if we have visitors from another realm and they are different.
Thanks again for that great information. Have a good day!

Celebrate the differences..If we were all exactly alike, wouldn’t the world be a boring place?

Anti-semitism still exists, and yet the Jews have been freed from Buchenwald. Blacks were freed from slavery, and yet racism still exists.

Flawed humans often “pigeon-hole” a group or person, simply because of what they hear or read in our lying forms of media. I find on a one-on-one basis, the majority of people I’ve met are not near so judgmental as what the media tells us. I saw a gentleman reading a book and he looked entranced. I asked if it was an important book. He told me it was a Torah. Then he asked if I was Jewish and was rather surprised at my positive response. I simply told him “No, but I am a Christian and Jesus was Jewish.” He gave me the nicest smile and we shared a moment in time that was precious. All moments should be precious.
I keep my faith strong, but each man has the right to choose, and I respect that. I am a mutt – a white mix of so many cultures in my history. So what! I had no control over what color I am, or where I was born, or any disability I might have. Neither does anyone else.
No one needs judge another – just learn to love each other.
Gosh, you got me going didn’t you! Thanks, and have a stellar day!

The education system is designed to churn out ignorant, obedient workers. Racism will always exist as long as it serves the interests of the powerful.

I am so sorry that I must concur! You are correct in your comments. I think it is all motivated by greed, as I am sure you also know.
I am in California. Have you heard of “Common Core” in the schools. I am absolutely opposed to it. What do you think?
Have a beautiful day!
