Oprah has a billion dollars, but I have style!

October 16, 2014

I opted to model in this beret a “few” years ago – at least more than 25!  Yikes.Oprah

Mine was angora.  Ha ha.  I just think this is very funny.  “They say” every style that is old will come back again!  Proven here.  I do have some bell bottom slacks that I have had since the 60’s.  Wide bell bottoms to dance in.  Of course they are a tad tighter now!

Sometimes things are just funny to me.  Humor is healing, you know – and for me that is necessary!  Actually humor is very important for all of us to remember these days!

SMILE!  God bless you all.

GOOD MORNING!

October 6, 2014

I believe it is a beautiful day.  Even if I didn’t, I would talk myself into it by creating new brain cell impressions:  It’s a beautiful day.  It’s a beautiful day.  It’s a beautiful day.

It works.  Thoughts become your life.  That’s kind of general, but it is true.  Also the creating of new brain cells is true!  We are a precision and wonderful human machine.  Far better than any mechanical thing!  Believe it!

Someone ask me if I would republish one of my posts, so that is what I am doing today.  If you haven’t read it, I hope you enjoy it.  I have published over six hundred and fifty posts!  Yikes – I must love to write!  Yes, I do.

So here it is.  Enjoy and CREATE a beautiful day for yourself and those in your circle of life.  Time is fleeting so take advantage of every single moment.

Rambling from the heart

Beautiful is a friend who always there for you, even if she should be taking care of herself.
Beautiful is kindness that comes directly from the heart, and is unending for those in need.
Beautiful is a smile that doesn’t have to be pasted on, but one that reflects joy and sincerity.
Beautiful is character that molds itself from life’s experiences, and grows in quality and positive traits.
Beautiful is being able to face someone and look them in the eyes and know they love you too.
Beautiful is faith that is recognized, and credit given to He that paid the highest sacrifice.
Beautiful is genuine motivation to give something in life that shares healing with others.

Beautiful is a word that cannot be fully described, yet you know when you see real beauty because there is a vibrance, and a shining glow that can only be captured with the word beautiful!

Be beautiful  – it’s possible for all – for beauty lies within the heart, so open yours and let your light shine.  When you love, love will come to you bountifully.

Learn to give, and you learn to live!

This photograph may have you wondering.  I will explain.  One day my daughter said her two children were bored.  She got creative.  She let them make a tent from moving a few things, using a few blankets, and a flashlight.  They had a blast and when done invited her to join them.  You can’t see the kiddos, but you can see my daughter’s leg.  Have fun with your children.  As I have said before, time is fleeting.  To finish – at some point, they all pitched in to clean things up.  What a great afternoon!

THIS IS SOMETHING WONDERFUL! I AM SURE YOU WILL LOVE IT!

August 20, 2014

Here is the best reason I have ever heard for just “turning” the covers down on the beds and not making them each day!  The air freshens the sheets and dries out any moisture that may be left on them, and at the same time kills bed mites!  Don’t cringe…we all have bed mites we can’t see!  YUK.

I will never make a bed again!

If you want a very simple stress management technique, go to my website: stressmanagementmagic.com and read today’s post.  It’s short!

How to save money on makeup!

August 9, 2014

Mix it up baby! makeup.jpgDon’t throw anything away.  I mix until I get the colors I want-add sunscreen to my face makeup, and moisture.  Works perfectly. Put less expensive lipsticks and glosses what is left of that more expensive stuff  – Take a bit of work to crunch it together, but I love what happens in the end.  It is perfectly matched for my complexion – just like the face makeup…and a little bit is all I use.  Lasts for a long, long time beautifully.

I am one practical little mamba.  🙂  I also shop at yard sales and decent thrift stores.  You save a bundle of money, get a much better selection and mix, and the materials are softer than new.  Of course I wash everything and I buy my “personals” new, but I have a pretty fantastic little wardrobe for much less money!  Also, if I get sloppy or someone spills on me, for the price, I can just throw whatever it is away – if need be.

There is no shame is being clever!  Have a wonderful weekend ladies!  You too, gentlemen.

Who is Carl Atman?

June 13, 2014

Have you ever had a feeling that you have known a person before, or been to a place that you have never seen before?  Many of us have had those experiences….whether you believe in the possibility of reincarnation or not, this book will definitely hold your attention throughout!

I am a Christian, but I do not dismiss the fact that I am only finite, and do not know all the workings of God.  My faith is strong, but I read the book because I was told it was a love story – and I know and trust the author – I was not disappointed.

So whether you believe in reincarnation, or have different beliefs, or don’t believe in anything at all, this story will hold your attention, chapter to chapter.  It is worth a read, and perhaps it will answer the question for you: Do you believe in reincarnation of not?

Whatever reason you get the book, plan on getting involved and dismiss your stress for a time!  Rest and Regeneration – it is GREAT for all of us!

I actually am old school about some things.   I got the book to take with me to read while sitting under a big old tree.  It was VERY relaxing.  I actually put in a bookmark and closed my eyes for a few.

Enjoy your weekend and insist on some good old fashioned R&R – You are worth it!

Each soul’s journey through life on planet earth is an ultimate adventure.

Morris says he was compelled to write this book. He was certain many people would enjoy the adventures in time.  It is a journey for many recalling times in their lives they were stirred by an old feeling, or a memory of knowing a place or person, some time in their “past”.

THE LIVES OF CARL ATMAN will stir those feelings from within and perhaps bring to mind a love story over the eons of time that manifests in your memory.

The greater picture of the billions of lives and these stories are a cosmic phenomenon we can never comprehend in this life. But along with our God-given intuition and creative power, we can imagine. And in all our lives, we learn at one point or another that there is inner guidance available for us if we merely tune in.

Reincarnation.  Fact?  Or is this just a wonderful love story that spans centuries? You will know for yourself once you read:

Outside my window

Life goes on

Little Bird still sits on a branch close by

He peers into look at me and I look at him

Little wings and beak

Human limbs healing, but still weak

Red berries in the bush

Posion to humans

Delight to feathered friends

Life goes on

It never really ends

On to something new

Change is imminent

Guaranteed

God bless those bound to home

Never freed

Life goes on

Still all is new

CREATE this day

And ……God bless you!

Have you ever eaten dog food?

February 17, 2014

I have.  Of course it was by accident!  Still trying to “be good” and let my body heal as it should.  That takes time.  So even though I am much better (my hip surgery-new joint), it has only been three weeks and I have some healing to do.

This morning I got up and did a few things and then got back in bed with a paper towel holding a couple of handful of Cherrios, and one holding a bit of dry dog food.

The next thing I knew both towels flew out of my hand and there was a mix of both on the bed, on the floor, in my hand, and surprisingly on the blanket where the dog lay.

Those did not last long.

Since I cannot really bend down yet, I took the now invaluable “grabber” and started to pick the little things up one by one, separating them into (once again) two paper towels.

Did not take long so I climbed into bed to sit and do a bit of studying, and I poured out the goodies for the dog (who was on her blanket on the bed too).  Then I popped some Cherrios into my mouth and began to chew.  Do my dismay, I realized I should have put my glasses on before doing so.

Uh-huh – dog food mixed in!  Yuk.  I am glad I am not a dog.  It made me begin to gag and I thought I was going to need a bucket.  I made my way to the bathroom, did some spitting into the toilet, and quickly brushed my teeth.

Now I have seen some showoff guys do this for fun (after a few drinks), but my palate must be really selective.  It was disgusting.

Though I admit, not half as disgusting as the Preparation H I once brushed my teeth with (no glasses of course).

Did I get mad?  Not on your life.  I started laughing after I quit gagging.  There is so much to be miserable about today, and I will endeavor to be joyous, even if it means, “laughing WITH myself!”  By the way, I shared my yogert with the poor dog!

Haven’t told my husband yet, as he will be tired tonight and I thought I would share it after his shower so he can have a good laugh too.

Find the humor in life and you will find the joy!  God bless you all!

I hope you have had a wonderful week!

January 11, 2014

Mine has been rough, but……

God loves me unconditionally.

The love of my life is still the love of my life.

Every time my doggie comes to me, she is happy to see me.

The stillness of the day reminds me of quiet naptime in kindergarten.  I loved that time.

The glass chimes barely move but resound sweetly in my ears.

I heard my granddaughter burst into laughter and then yell loudly “I love you grandma”

I remember nestling my children in my arms.

Do I have regrets?  No.  Regrets are the past, and I am grateful for lessons learned.

The past cannot be changed and so I look onward and upward.

The sixth was my birthday and I do not feel my age.  Not even on bad days!  This year has been a year full of bad days and pain, but I am grateful to have lived so many lives, and made it through -landing always on happiness and peace.

I am so grateful for all the love that comes to me, and for now having to have the wisdom to know – there must be a reason.  I always felt, from the time I was a child, that I was born to LOVE and have FAITH.  I knew that was why I was born.

It is so easy to love, and so easy to forgive….I have been forgiven so many, many times!

I am grateful for learning to laugh in the womb with my twin brother.  He still makes me laugh.

What a gift it was for me to, I think, be born happy.  It was not always easy to stay happy – but I am grateful I knew the choice of pursuing it, and making it grow and blossom was mine.

There is NOTHING wrong with aging.  There is nothing wrong with claiming the prize that comes with the trials.  There is a peace within me. That “peace beyond understanding” permeates my Spirit.

So I claim my age, in time and space – whatever that age may be!

Judge me if you will, we all are flawed in and disrepair,

We all can improve…..if only a hair.

I find it hard to believe, but I know it’s true, for my brother, my twin, is aging too!

Our age seems a fine number to be.

My mind feels like thirty, I still have that eight year old trapped somewhere inside, I love to play and do so each day.

I stand before God and thank him still – I “could be” an old sourpuss,

with a negative will.  But I am not.  I am happy and have a soft heart, and still seek all the answers with a strong and fierce intellect.

The only thing missing is a good pan of fudge! Ahhhh, but that can be fixed!  CREATE a beautiful day, and a beautiful life.

So swing by and see what you think.  An an added challenge, something is up with both my computers and if I type a word-the little ball takes forever just to post it.  Anyone have any ideas?

Will try again tomorrow.  Have a great night!  We are having snow – which is unusual for this area, so I am going to watch my Rottie play! snow

Little Bird

December 4, 2013

Little Bird remembered the day she took flight for the first time.  She had dreamed of this day.  Her little wings opened and she shook for a moment with fear.

Her mama said, “Fly birdie, fly.  You have the sky as your playground and the world is a beautiful place.

Little Bird  took a breath and then pushed forward, out of the nest, and from the top of the tree she flew. She felt wobbly at first and then she remembered how much she had wanted to fly

Open wings, and open heart, she glided to and fro and felt the wind against her little body.  It was heaven.  It was as wonderful as she knew it would be and she was happy.

She knew she was meant to fly.  She was graceful in the sky and a very happy little bird.

One day she flew past a window and saw a young girl lying in bed.  The girl smiled as she saw the bird, and so the little bird dove past the window over and over again.

Each time the child smiled, and when the little bird perched on the limb of the oak, very near the window where the little girl lie so still, the little girl giggled.

One day the young girl left her bed.  She left the house with her mama and began to run and play with other children.  Little Bird kept watching and was happy for the young girl.  She felt that she had been a part of the little girl healing.  She knew smiles and laughter was good, and she felt good knowing she had added to the young girl’s life.

Weeks melded into months, and the little bird flew and watched from her perch as the young girl left and came home..  The girl smiled and laughed.  The little bird was happy, though she was sad too, because she didn’t want to fly away in case the little girl needed her, and all her friends had gone.  Still, she decided to be near…just in case.

One day the Little Bird ventured higher into the sky than she had ever gone.  Without warning a big Hawk slammed into the little bird, and she could feel the pain in her wing starting to ache.  The Hawk flew away unharmed, but the little bird knew she was in trouble.

She began to loose altitude and could only try to glide with one wing working, to land safely below.  When she awoke, Little Bird found herself lying on the soft dirt by the window of the young girl’s bedroom.  She tried, but could not get her broken wing to work right.

She was grateful she had not landed on the sidewalk, but now began to tremble thinking about the big black cat she had seen several days earlier.  All she could do was wait and hope the cat would not come around.

She fell asleep, exhausted from the fall and the injury.  When she awoke, she felt warmth and opened her eyes to find herself in the palm of the young girl’s hand.

Little Bird

“Oh look mama”, said the young girl.” “My birdie has fallen and injured itself.  We must help this little bird to heal, just like the little bird helped me when I was sick.”

The little bird felt better already, and was grateful she had stayed near the little girl.

Slowly the little bird got stronger, and though the wing never did get strong enough for her to fly, the little bird now had a new home that was safe from the black cat.

Though she would NEVER fly again, she knew she was loved, and found she found she could do something else that the young girl just loved.  She could sing!

She sang, “If you break your wing, don’t forget to sing.

Sing a song and it will heal your heart

Sing a song, it is very smart.

For if you cannot do  thing you like

You can create another joy,

For God gave many, many gifts,

To every girl and boy.”

I am learning to sing.  God bless us all.  Keep those prayers active for the folks in the Philippines.
