Sept. 11 – Music to honor firemen, policemen, and all those who lost their lives on that day…

September 11, 2014

And to honor all our military who have paid the ultimate price protecting citizens- either with the critical loss of body and/or mind quality, and those who have given their lives in the service of all of us in the United States of America.  God bless them, and God bless us all.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Movie Reviews

August 12, 2014

A quick movie review. I feel qualified only because I have intelligence, taste and morals! (Actually, since my husband was hurt badly in 2003 and I was last year – we have watched (verifiably) over two thousand movies. That is sad, in a way, because we think holly weird passes the wrong messages to younger people.

Here goes:

Noah: The actors and special effects were jut fine, but something “lacked ” in the writing. If anyone was trying to see what Noah of the Bible was really like – this was wayyyyyy far off base. As far as everyone I have spoken with – the consensus is the same – entertaining, but nothing really special.

Under the Skin: For all the hype you would think this such an amazing move! It was- amazingly unprofound (is that a word?) and stupid. Yes, the actress is very pretty, and her nude body is fine too – but as far as the movie – YUK. Don’t spend your money. REALLY. It wasn’t a spectacular alien movie. She isn’t as pretty as Brad Pitt’s wife, you know who I mean, Angelina, and most of the movie was focused on her face. She has a nice smile, but as far as the rest of the acting – acting? Where? We watched it all because my curiosity is extreme, and I needed to know if there was a point I would be overwhelmed with the quality or story of the movie. NOT. If anything I was under whelmed. What a piece of trash and the time I spent “giving it a chance” is lost forever. Bleck!

Non-Stop with Liam NIiesem (that’s close) – what an unexpected A movie! I was totally shocked as I hadn’t heard of it, and it was one of those movies you can’t take your eyes off the screen because it is so exciting. Well worth the money. There is something sexy about that man.

Heaven is Real: I read the book. It was quite good, and a best seller because it is true. I don’t think the movie was quite as thrilling as the book, but my husband (who is crazy for wild stuff), even professed, he really enjoyed it.   A true story. I can relate to being “out of the body” as I was once after an accident…good to sit with family and ponder life and all that we can’t see.

Forgive the typing and all, I am still in a splint and with only my right hand (am left-handed) it is what you see is what you get. CHOOSE your movies carefully – they are sneaky in holly weird….we saw a movie (can’t think of the name of it) not too long ago, and NONE of the sexual violence was in the previews.

I had an attempted rape. It’s not funny, and it’s not sexy. Think of your daughters, sisters, mothers and girlfriends, guys, and don’t let that you see on screen entice you.

It’s your life – PICK AND CHOOSE!

BTway – I always choose “elderly or seniors with tags and categories as they NEED to be involved with life, with reality, with a part of what is happening now.  They have earned it!

One Days Losses in precious human souls – in One Conflict

July 17, 2013

A cross could represent your son or daughter.  I felt such sorrow when I saw these flags honoring the men and women of our armed services for their service – and showing the loss of their lives during just one day of battle by putting up a cross in the sand. !  I took this photo a few years ago, and I honestly cannot remember which “conflict” it represented.

It doesn’t matter.  What matters is that the majority of wars end in loss of lives and no real gain of any sort (at least in the eyes of those who felt the losses).  War is been, has been, and always will be a travesty.

I honor all those who are currently participating in various conflicts, and those who have in the past.  They are doing their duty as they see it, and I back our troops a thousand percent.  I  hope and pray that all these young men and women will come home, alive and in one piece.  Please join me in prayer for these brave military folks, and please pray also eventually war will be a thing of the past…..in my dreams

I am living proof that you should enjoy your life moment by moment.

Never waste a moment when you can say, “I love you.

Never pass the opportunity by to hug someone you love.  Hug that person

close to you. Remember how wonderful it is that they are a part of your life.

Be grateful for small miracles we often take for granted.

Each moment is an opportunity to begin again, no matter what may seem impossible.  We are given life, and it is a wonderful gift.

Don’t diminish your spirit by dousing yourself with man’s enemies –

alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, hatred, vanity, and over-indulgence of anything that can harm you.

Time and circumstance happens to all men.

We have no real control over our lives, though we like to think we do.

The ONLY thing we have control of one hundred percent of the time, is our response to circumstances that come to us.

One moment I was thanking God for the blue sky, stars, my husband, the health of my children and grandchildren, and within a moment my life has changed forever.  I thank God all those awesome things I was thanking Him for have not changed.

I am working hard to recover from something I NEVER thought would happen to me.  For those of you who are following this blog, I will expound tomorrow, but for now I must rest.

God bless you and your loved ones.  God bless us all.  Now go hug someone or tell them you love them!

Please pray

All are Marines that gave their lives for YOU this week- all these men will never reach the age of 30.  . Please Honor THEM by sharing you prayers for their Spirits, families, and comrades in battle.

Marines in trouble

January 14, 2012

I know this post is going to cause some problems- but I want to post this as a human being occupying the world, not an American, not an Arab, not a Chinese, not anything but a human being.

Right now the media is slicing the Marines who “relieved” themselves on the bodies of deceased enemies, into tidbits as horrible persons, horrific acts, bad, bad Marines. Excuse me. As a human being, if someone hurt my family or loved ones, and I was able to find and punish them, I might “relieve” myself by doing the same thing – if I were a man. As a woman, I probably would not do the same thing.

These MARINES are trained to hunt down and kill the enemy, as all soldiers of the world are. Have you not heard of someone beheading a dead enemy? Have you not heard of horrific things done with the bodies of enemies by all “troops” in the world? These men are YOUNG men, TRAINED to hunt down and kill…..PERHAPS in that mentality, you would piss on the bodies of the enemies.

Is it politically correct? Maybe not, but review the people who have raped and killed and are now treated for being “criminally insane”…
they are given treatment and forgiveness for their actions. Think about the child molesters who are given minimal sentences and are let out to roam the streets.

Can we not step into the shoes of the Marines and NOT follow the media by condemning these men? If an Iranian (simply as an example) killed the enemy, would the men perhaps do the same? Or worse? Who knows….

But if we condemn the young men we train to KILL to protect us – what are we doing? Think about it. It’s not a perfect world, and these are humans WE’VE trained!

Have mercy and understanding. These are men in their 20’s and 30’s and we’ve expected them to kill to keep the peace. Come on…..If it were your son and he was forced to kill….would you condemn him?
