Diesel and Donna

Diesel and Donna

My day began as many others do. The morning was a bit cooler. I cannot say I am sorry ,as recently, the hot weather has taken a toll on my energy level.

It was a day of a routine schedule. Nothing exasperating, nothing remarkable , until I saw a statuesque young woman, with blonde hair, walking her dog. He was a fairly large, very black dog. They moved slowly together.

We passed and I said hello . I mentioned her dog limping….thinking perhaps the dog had twisted an ankle.

My Axel Bear, a Rottweiler, often charges across the yard to chase the sounds along the fence-line. In doing so, sometimes he twists his paw. One time he tore both ACL joints and was in severe pain. But that is another story……

She said her boy was eleven and had arthritis. I have some arthritis so I know how painful it is. I can voice my pain All a dog is able to do is limp, or pant, or sometimes voice an occasional whimper. All the owner can do for his or her beloved dog, is attend to the business of caring for the animal, when these things become obvious.

This afternoon I saw this patient and kind – lovely woman, walking her dog again. I watched her for a few minutes.

She was in pace with the animal in pain. She never hurried the dog or got impatient. She just lovingly stood as he looked around, sniffed the air, and decided when it was time to walk a few steps further.

It was genuinely an amazing sight to see. In recent days, I have read about dog owners giving their dog away when they get old…taking them to the dog pound, or trying to sell them saying,“We just moved and we cannot have a dog.” It makes me FUME!

When we accept the unconditional love of the greatest friend human beings have – a dog – we need to not only feed and care for them through out their young and vibrant years; we need to fulfill our commitment, as we would with a child, during those more difficult and painful years. We should not dump them because they need more care and perhaps medical help…or because we are fearful to see them wither on the vine and pass away.

As I watched these “friends” walking past, I could not help but ask what their names are. The young woman said, “This is Diesel and I am Donna.

I asked if I might write a bit about them, and though taken by surprise, she said it was alright.

I wanted to tell this LOVE STORY between a young blonde woman, and a very black older dog. The love was obvious. The patience and care was beautiful, and it touched my heart deeply!

If only everyone who accepted all that a dog has to offer, would fulfill a dog’s life, as this woman is obviously doing, it would be miraculous.

Bless them both. When the time comes for separation, I know, and believe with ALL my heart – God would never give us such a gift only to end the Spirit forever.

I believe Diesel will be playing, pain free, at the Rainbow bridge, and waiting with kisses and love in his heart, for his Donna!

Happy Easter – beyond the “frenzy to buy”……

April 5, 2015

Corporations and the media have certainly gotten an A+ when it comes to the celebration of Easter. The chord they stuck was with children.

Why how can you NOT decorate eggs, buy Easter toys and decorations, and have Easter egg hunts and candy?

Clearly – once a child is old enough to “want” what they see, manufacturers make sure they see it all!

I understand Easter originally began as a holiday that was imported by German immigrants. Today some people tell children that if they are good the Easter bunny will bring them a basket or treats. Some people have their children leave carrots for a hungry bunny who hops all over the world.

Easter is second only in candy sales to Halloween! Dentists must love the holiday!

Personally I wish I had never been sucked into the realm of all of it when my children were very young. It set the stage for reoccurring celebrations.

Some parents compare the eggs with the resurrection. I find no such comparison.

I don’t always go to church, so I don’t make a point of going to church “just on special holidays”. But if that is your standard, I make no judgment one way or another!

I just hope for anyone who believes Jesus is the only begotten son of God, that they never forget He sacrificed His life so we could share eternity with Him.

For some it is a difficult concept to understand…the “why” of it all still remains rather a mystery. But I am a believer. There are some things I simply do not question but leave to simple faith.

I have found myself in tears thinking of the pain and the horror He lived through, and His sacrifices for His children. Sometimes I just smile knowing that through it all, we will be loved and sharing eternity with this precious son of God.

.Celebrate uour faith. Celebrate the possibility of faith. Celebrate the moments you have to live this day. Celebrate love and our Creator.

A strange day takes a Holy turn!

March 16, 2015

I had absolutely NO intention of writing this. NONE at all. I lay down because of the weakness of my back, and I needed to put heat on my back because the pain is overwhelming. I was feeling terrible and thought about the meaning of hope. With all sincerity, I put the laptop on my lap, and the words below just came tumbling out of my head. No forethought, no thought at all of what to write in this post….except to write what is posted below: Verbatim.  I haven’t even re-read what I wrote – 100% honestly!  I will later….
——————————————–

No wonder we cannot understand why God allows terrible things to happen. It’s all a dream. From a perspective that assumes I have an inkling of really KNOWING all about God, I think I get it.

We are God’s creations, but in order for God to understand the human being, mind, body and soul, He sent His son to see if we are worth all the trouble. Jesus knows a great many of us are, and just needed a teacher to show the Way.

Jesus knows. He understands everything is REAL to us. He knows that pain and torture are real to us. He knows that the suffering of man is almost unbearable – enough to ask God Himself NOT to follow through with the plan. He was also afraid and did not want to face the torture man can inflict upon another. He saw the pain the death of others caused those who truly loved each other.  He saw the questioning of God’s existence when a child was lost…

He had an edge. He could have used his power, as the ONLY begotten Son of God, to perform a miracle and not sacrifice Himself. But He also understood the power of CHOICE that man has within himself.

He chose to take on “the world” and all the “sins of man” to become the ultimate mentor and advocate for God Himself. He died so that when our earthly death comes to take us, we are not lost forever into oblivion. He chose to be our Shepherd and guide. He was and is, the Way, the Truth and the Life.

He took upon Himself, within His mind and body, ALL of our mistakes, and the evil behavior of many of us. He carried the burden to His death….and Resurrection.
…………………………………………………………………..

Here is an absolute post script. I didn’t remember this even until I had written the post, and then the preface. It just came to me. One of those epiphany moments. I had gotten out of bed this morning (and I confess – I have been on a spiritual low for a while) – and I got on bended knees next to the bed. That’s no easy trick for me since my back surgeries. I simply asked that the Holy Spirit be activated and fill me.

I feel at peace right now, and I am breathing easier. Sweet!  I also just read the post, and it is exactly what I do believe but more in terms the common man (myself included) can comprehend.  Sometimes the Bible is a tad difficult and confusing.

Cloth grocery bags, remote controls, and border control

November 2, 2014

This is why I vote for the cloth bag to put groceries in.Toe use

My bag broke and a can of dog food hit exactly where the toenail hits the skin. Ouch!

Probably will loose the nail.  This photo was taken two weeks after the fact.

The only drawback I can see for cloth bags is when there is a big family, it will take some large bags, or big trash bags. Don’t know how that will work….

———————–Remotes

Am I the only lame woman around,or do you think most women HATE remote controls? I hate them all. The reason my husband is in charge of them is because if I start to use them I still get totally lost!

Lastly, what I cannot figure out is why our government is so “dull” (in the brain area) about keeping our borders safe.

The great wall of China was built in the 7th Century BC. to protect the Empire against intrusions.

The wall is 5,500 miles long and is one of the wonders of the world.

7th cent. BCOh, I remember why we can’t accomplish something like that. It is all about the way the government wants to do things, and the swaying of monies. The peasants have no say in anything really.

Mid-term elections cost at least a billion dollars – these folks pay millions each to be elected. It’s pretty lucrative LIFETIME EMPLOYMENT. Even if you aren’t elected again, you still get tons of perks.

Sorry about the photo being blurry – it is a copy of a copy!

Can’t say any more than that as it is a beautiful day and I am going to go outside and enjoy these moments in time.

Here are some flowers to brighten your day if you are unable to enjoy the outdoors today.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMay these lovely flowers add a bit of sunshine to your day – and perhaps, a smile!

God bless you and those in the circle of your lives.

Sept. 11 – Music to honor firemen, policemen, and all those who lost their lives on that day…

September 11, 2014

And to honor all our military who have paid the ultimate price protecting citizens- either with the critical loss of body and/or mind quality, and those who have given their lives in the service of all of us in the United States of America.  God bless them, and God bless us all.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

More information regarding children’s new virus

September 9, 2014

This virus is spreading quickly. If your child is sick – keep them home. Lots of good hand washing!

Really dangerous for those with asthma and/ or under 6.

Hits the lungs and child feels like lungs are closing – difficulty speaking, perhaps breathing. Begins like cold – sneezing, runny nose, and cough.

Virus stays alive on surfaces of things too.

Many in intensive care, so please be careful and watch your kids closely-particularly those with asthma or other breathing problems.

Authorities say if not in your state-it will be soon. I will be praying for all the children, and I hope you will too. These precious ones are in our care.

“At least 10 states — Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Colorado, Ohio, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Georgia — have reported suspected outbreaks of human enterovirus 68 and requested CDC support.

“Viruses don’t tend to respect borders,” ABC News Chief Health and Medical Editor Dr. Richard Besser said. “It is only 10 states now, but it’s going to be across the country. So if your state doesn’t have it now, watch for it, it’s coming.”

“It can start just like a cold — runny nose, sneezing, coughs — but it’s the wheezing you have to watch out for,” Besser said.

At Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, Dr. Raju Meyappan, a pediatric critical care physician, said he’s seen at multiple children end up in the pediatric intensive care unit after being infected with the virus and that children under the age of 5 or those with asthma appear to be most at risk.”
