Because of all the confusing and some inaccurate information about Israel and Jerusalem  I felt I must brush the story. I do remember clearly my grandma and my mama talking about the subject of Israel and Jerusalem, and reading about it over a lifetime…and all the trauma surrounding it, I spent an inordinate amount of time the past week or so, re-affirming what rang in my head as facts and fallacy.
The results of this search has NOTHING to do with whom you like in the political realm, and whom you dislike. It has to do with accurate history.
Jerusalem was historically the capital of Israel for almost 3,000. In 1946 the newly formed United Nations (eleven men specifically) designated new borderlines and areas for Israel and the people of Palestine. Israel was NOT happy about this decision. The countries bristled with anger and contempt against one another.
In 1967 there was a six day war between Egypt, Jordan and Syria – and Israel. Israel had a decisive victory over the Arabs. I had to dig a bit to get good information, as the Arab countries were quite humiliated over this loss.
During the past decades, at least 4 United States presidents have promised to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel..none did it until Trump kept his promise. They were George Bush, Bill Clinton, and barack obama.

Clinton is seen in 1992 saying, “Jerusalem is still the capital of Israel and must remain an undivided city accessible to all.”

Bush is seen in 2000. “As soon as I take office, I will move the United States ambassador to the city Israel has chosen as its capital,” he says.

Obama is seen in 2008 saying, “I continue to say that Jerusalem will be the capital of Israel. I have said that before and I will say it again.”

So this upheaval against Trump is really not warranted. He is just fulfilling the promise he made when he ran for office – finishing the job promised years ago. Of course the Arab communities are up in arms about it, as they have denied Israel the truth for years.

As I said, I don’t care what anyone’s political stance is. I just think it fair when the truth is told and not a bunch of inaccurate hype.

The TRUTH about ILLEGAL border crossing

July 17, 2010

I could not resist posting this as it pinpoints the problem. My son spent two years legally getting his Filipino
wife into the country – for all those who do it legally, the illegals are making a mockery of them. Bravo to
Arizona’s governor. It’s only right to “check” questionable people. Do not know the author, but I checked and the information is correct. Self-explanatory.
Subject: US Versus Them–Border Crossing

If you cross the North Korean border illegally: you get 12 years hard labor.

If you cross the Iranian border illegally: you are detained indefinitely.

If you cross the Afghan border illegally: you get shot.

If you cross the Saudi Arabian border illegally: you will be jailed.

If you cross the Chinese border illegally: you may never be heard from again.

If you cross the Venezuelan border illegally: you will be branded a spy and your fate will be sealed.

If you cross the Cuban border illegally: you will be thrown into political prison to rot.

If you cross the U.S. border illegally you get:

* a job
* a drivers license
* social security card
* welfare
* food stamps
* credit cards
* subsidized rent or a loan to buy a house
* free education
* free health care
* a lobbyist in Washington
* billions of dollars worth of public documents printed in your language
* the right to carry your country’s flag while you protest that you don’t get enough respect
* and, in many instances, you can vote

COME ON NOW – admit we need to do something – you think?

Prison

June 2, 2010

I am remembering after I write to “Relax, it’s just life!”. It does take practice to do so.

I have been doing my homework on something I’d like to share.

First – keep in mind that our senior citizens got no cost of living raise this year. Also a payment is taken out of their monthly social security to pay for a portion of what is covered.
Dental and glasses are not covered.

Now to my major bitch for the day. It really irritates me and is totally ridiculous. Before many people are put into our prisons they hear the phrase, “If you can’t afford an attorney one will be provided for you….” Who do you think pays for these attorneys? Taxpayers.

Our prison system sucks!
Check this out:
1. USA and territories had an incarcerated population of 2,424,279 inmates in 2008 ( two years ago).

There are conflicting numbers on different websites, but an average of almost one hundred and fifty BILLION dollars a year is spent on inmates.

The breakdown is 80% security and MEDICAL (which of course includes regular checkups, dental, vision and surgeries). The remaining 20% is spent on food, clothing, EDUCATION, and administrative issues. Pissed yet?

It costs more to house a “lifer” than a regularly sentenced inmate. We have over 2,270 lifers who were incarcerated as CHILDREN. California alone has almost 700 lifers in prison.

It costs a billion dollars a year to pay for inmates incarcerated on “pot” charges! There are over a million non-violent prisoners – but somehow pedophiles seem to slip between the cracks and get released on a regular basis. Perhaps that’s because prison can be a “living hell” for them as many inmates are parents. Poor pedophiles!

Between 2001 – 2004 the cost of housing illegal immigrants in our prisons was 5.8 BILLION dollars!

Now considering these statistics I have two questions for you.
1. Would you like to pay for a life-time sentence for the woman who just slit and killed her daughter and nearly killed another one? She could get an education, dental work and new eyeglasses.
2. Do you want to pay for illegal immigrants who are incarcerated? They too would get full medical benefits and of course dental, an education…and whoops, I forgot, clothing and food and a place to stay.

My answers are a resounding NO to both. I believe our prison system is breaking us and there is absolute proof that “rehabilitating” our prisoners DOES NOT WORK for the vast majority. There is a 99% probability that a pedophile will repeat his or her offense again and again. As far as other
violations….proven fact the majority repeat crimes – and oftentimes plan them while in prison.

I know a boy who is spending his life in prison (for murder). Incarcerated at 18. His mother told me he reiterated that he’s never gotten such good drugs as he has since he’s been in prison.

Have you seen any of the television interviews with prison “stars”? Manson’s had a few; so has John Gotti, Jr.- actually there are lots of television shows and movies that make prison life seem like a way for offenders to get famous.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH THOSE IN CHARGE? Oh, I forgot, it’s a different day – same politics! As a famous television commentator says, “GIVE ME A BREAK!”

Time for me to take the dog for a walk and breathe!

The President’s words, Bret Bair, Barbara Boxer, and my thoughts on this big fat mess!

March 19, 2010

FIRST LET ME SAY THIS: I am a political athiest. I vote but I belong to no party. I think the system is corrupt and ninety-nine percent of politicians are corrupt. These are my thoughts simply as a human who has lived long enough to have seen our government in action over and over again. I wish I could be more positive about this.

I am REALLY rushed this morning so if there are typos I apologize right now. Also, if you disagree with the facts I’ve written or have your own opinions about all this, I would LOVE to hear them!!!

Obama: “I don’t know where you get the notion it’s one-sixth of the economy.” (then in the net breath he said,)
“Yes, it’s one-sixth of the economy, but…..”
——————
Strange.
——————
Obama: “The vast majority of people will be able to keep what they have because they’re getting’ a better deal…”
——————
Then what is the nearly trillion-dollar bill about, and why do they have to VASTLY reduce Medicare for the elderly? Why will we be taxed for ten years and yet the program won’t “activate for four years,) I am a bit confused.
Even if you are liberal REALLY check out the Bret Bair interview with the president.

I love the way when obama “talks to” the people he drops his correct diction to get folksy – such as: “gettin”, “fixin” and “loosin”. In his interview with Bret Bair he didn’t directly answer one question; using debating tactics he side-stepped around and went into a blather of words. He kept saying “let me finish my sentence,” but what I noticed was he wouldn’t let Bret finish a question, really…he just kept “talkin”.

I loved the fact that if families earning under $88,000.00 a year had a hard time paying for the insurance or the fine if they don’t get it, our corrupt government would kick in a “supplement” to help their deficiencies. Where does that money come from?

Here are some interesting numbers. There are 304,059,724 people in the USA (not including illegal immigrations – whom by the way, often get medical help, food help, and more – but they don’t file income taxes. The census bureau’s form for this year doesn’t even ask if you are a citizen or not…

Out of 133 million income tax filers (yes 170,059,724 don’t file) 40 million of those filing DON’T pay taxes, but often get refunds. So that leaves only 93,000,000 who pay ALL THE INCOME TAX…..hmmmm. I think I know many of these hard work peasants. I think I am one. That’s a pretty heavy burden with all the job losses and foreclosures, and Wall Street and the banks keep on ticking on with multi-million dollar bonus packages!.

I wrote Senator Barbara Boxer my thoughts about the health care fiasco. This was her response. This is, I am sure, a form letter for all of us peasants who are just too stupid to be written to in an intelligent manner. So let’s be condescending and reiterate what all the politicians always say:

BLAH BLAH BLAH

All this letter says to me is blah, blah, blah.

“Dear Mrs. O’Brien:

Thank you for writing to me about pending health care reform legislation. I appreciate hearing from you.
There is widespread agreement that we must reform our health insurance system, which is a huge financial burden on our families. The status quo is no longer sustainable. Thousands of Americans lose their insurance every day while thousands more are denied coverage. If we do nothing, 45 percent of an average family’s income will go towards health insurance premiums in 2016. And without action, Medicare will be broke by 2017.
On February 25, 2010, President Obama held a summit on comprehensive health insurance reform. I was pleased to see members of both parties participate in this frank and forthright exchange of ideas.
I strongly believe that we must seize this opportunity to move forward on health care reform, and I hope that we can. I will continue to fight for health care reform for Californians and all Americans.
Again, thank you for writing to me. Please feel free to contact me again about this or other issues of concern to you.

Barbara Boxer
United States Senator”

DON’T YOU LOVE THIS? I don’t want to go to her website and fill out another form. Wouldn’t an email be simpler? :☺

Please do not respond to this message. If you would like to comment on legislation, please visit my website and use the correspondence form at https://boxer.senate.gov/contact/email/policy.cfm

————————-

My gut level feeling is we will be “screwed and tattooed” if Obama and Biden and their cronies manage to pull this off.

Medicare will be depleted of millions and millions of dollars, we WILL BE TAXED HIGHER TAXES (for ten years – though the implementing of the program won’t start for four years!) and from what I’ve heard – the almighty health care won’t be available for four years!

Excuse the hell out of me – “ALL AMERICAN FAMILIES WILL BE REQUIRED TO GET HEALTHCARE, AND IF THEY DON’T THEY WILL BE FINED”. How can you fine someone who has lost their job and possibly their home?

I want Obama, Senators and Congressmen to have the same plan the peasants will be offered. By the way – what about the care of indigents and illegal aliens?

I don’t feel a bit badly about the president putting his trip off anyway. He was going to Indonesia(where he lived as a child) – to enjoy celebrations of him. What was the reason citizens would be paying for the Australia trip?

Did you see the woman whom the president was dedicating his trip to support the bill? She has cancer and her insurance will no longer cover her. HOWEVER – she is being treated in one of the best cancer care hospitals in the USA and will not be charged for her care. (I am HAPPY for her), but I thought Obama was there to stand up for her not being able to get care because of no insurance.

It’s all such a bunch of bolony! The only change that will happen if it passes is that you and me, our kids, and grandkids will be paying forever on this with higher taxes.

Social Security taxes will go up. Did you know that before you get social security every paycheck is taxed? (of course you did). I bet you might not know that when you get social security it only covers the hospital? You are required to pay over $100.00 a month to get physicians and prescriptions covered – that is taken out of your social security check. Then you need to get a supplement to cover expenses that’s are NOT covered! Did you know after you start receiving social security as your earned help, it is taxed again-considered with “income”. Even our tax consultant said that’s double taxation.

If the bill passes healthcare benefits for seniors(Medicare) will be reduced by millions, and I’ll say it again – TAXES WILL INCREASE.

Did you know social security doesn’t cover glasses or teeth? That is horrible considering the seniors whose teeth need work, and whose vision is poor.
Why does this concern me? My parents were seniors, I hope to qualify by living long enough, and even if you are eighteen now, you may live long enough to be a senior! It concerns us all.

Oh I know the bill is under a trillion dollars – by a pittance.

One last kind of negative comment: I would love to backhand Nancy Pelosi. She can’t decide for us all. Arrogant bitch. (Wow – is that me writing that? Yep. ☺

I know, “Relax, its Just Life”… and I will! I have aired my feelings on this and used my oxygen to empower and relax me, and now I feel better. What other good choice is there, but to choose to be calm and happy, no matter what. Ruining my own mind and body won’t change a thing. My attitude will! ☺

I will assert my power in a positive way. I would be interested in your thoughts on this if you care to share.

If you get overly concerned, close your eyes for a moment and go within. Take a few cleansing breaths and try to let any sense of fear or burden to melt away for now.

At least it is still a country wherein we can voice an opinion. It may not mean anything in the process, but it’s a great relief to me to get this all out. 🙂

Mr. Barack Hussien Obama and Michael Jackson’s Memorial

July 4, 2009

…………………. or have you made it a law yet that I have to call you “Mr. President”? Maybe is it still just a courtesy and sometimes reflects respect. I have a few comments to you for your recent comments about California.

Perhaps before speaking you had better talk to a lifetime California resident. This state is going down the toilet. Happy 4th of July. I know, when you smile and say something, and then break into that great big prize winning smile that captivates, sometimes the words that come out of your mouth just float right by people.

But to clarify, people are not moving to California because it is working towards being a “green” state. They move to California because it is one of the USA’s coastal states, and people love the beach. They move to California because it has the most diverse land and weather – and probably the best – in the USA. They move to California because Mexico is poor and California has paid illegal immigrants and provided for their children. They also can have children here who are then US citizens.

Why would people want to “keep pace” with California. We are going bankrupt paying medical, food stamps, and housing for indigents, mentally ill residents, and poor people. Also, clear to me, the politicians are screwing up – California, once a stable state, is going bankrupt WHY? What happened to the billions the lottery brought in, what happened to ALL the money?

Please – don’t say California has created new jobs by leaning towards “the green way”…..we have some of the highest unemployment rates in the USA, and our home foreclosures possibly one of the highest! The working class (formerly the middle class) is now known as the working poor, and WE ARE SICK OF IT! The middle class is vaporized.

So please, DON’T give any credit to the STATE of California or it’s politicians or it’s liberal environmental folks. State parks may be closing, prisoners are being let out of prison early, firefighters and police and sheriff staffs are being laid off, DMV cost has risen, state sales tax has gone up and we are in the middle of the biggest mess I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

I am a native Californian and I am NOT happy about it all. I am NOT alone. That’s only part of the mess. Taxpayers in California are apparently going to be stuck with a 2.5 million cost for “security” for Michael Jackson’s Memorial Service. What the hell! It should be paid by his estate!

I would move but I can’t sell my house because the market is flooded with bank owned homes, I can’t refinance because we used our savings to keep up with our bills while my husband was unemployed for seven months, and it’s going to take a LONG time before we can even catch up!

And on top of it all, the English, whom we fought to separate from are now making billions of dollars from American Idol and it sister shows. We fought to separate because we were being taxed to death!

But let’s just keep giving everyone else but the REAL people, the working class people, the money! Take more trips, have more banquets, pass out millions to other countries and keep smiling and lying. I see no promises kept, only government enlarging control and the worker ants being stomped upon. There is nothing new under the sun.

And if anyone reading this has a valid opinion with any backup to prove my statements wrong, I will read your opinions with an open mind. I am just stating what I know to be what I have seen over a lifetime, and what I see now – NOT what the media tells me!

Okay. What is so wonderful about blogging is I can voice my opinions, get it out, then let it go! I am going to have a great evening – you do the same 🙂

Heart attack: How to help YOURSELF!

July 3, 2009

My sister sent me information today that I think is invaluable. I was aware of this technique before, but it never hurts to refresh our memory. I thought it might be important to share as one never knows what’s coming next!
————————————-

“Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be in order. Without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.”

“However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.”

“A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep
And prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let up
Until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.”

” Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.”

“The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.”

“Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives!”

Mr. President, ever watch the show “Lie to me”?

May 23, 2009

These were snapped during the speech Obama gave a couple of days ago- not press photos. An anynomous author sent me these and the article that follows:obama-1 If you can figure out what the looks mean – please share with me!
obama2obama-3

AS FAR AS THE FOLLOWING POST: It was sent to me and the author wishes to remain nameless. Check it out and see what you think. (the print in bold is the author’s thoughts – when he sent to me his words were in red so I just put them in bold print.
____________________________________________________

Mr. President your speech last night was brilliant. They always are. Being a champion in debating has been a plus for you. You are a motivational speaker – “rah rah – and blah blah blah.”

Let’s read between the lines. Since I fell off the turnip cart more than a few years ago, I’ve heard it all before, but you do make a pumped up and savvy version of the same old promises.

“What is required now is for this country to pull together, confront boldly the challenges we face, and take responsibility for our future once more.”

……Kind of hard to confront boldly with no job, pending foreclosure, no medical help, rising food cost, rising cost of gas, and the wealthy getting all the breaks. . What is it you are facing personally?….oh yes, overcoming the messiah challenge.

“Now, if we’re honest with ourselves, we’ll admit that for too long, we have not always met these responsibilities – as a government or as a people.” I say this not to lay blame or look backwards,” I have witnessed you looking backwards since before the election and sooooo many times after, go on… “but because it is only by understanding how we arrived at this moment that we’ll be able to lift ourselves out of this predicament.” Understanding what, Mr. President? That the banks and wall street have been bailed out? That black tie affairs and wasted pork money is being handed out freely. That we are rebuilding other countries and helping others while our poor are vaporized. The middle class is a memory of yesterday. What else do we need to understand and what is it you are lifting yourself personally out of?

“Second, we have launched a housing plan that will help responsible families facing the threat of foreclosure lower their monthly payments and re-finance their mortgages. We are responsible.” We pay our payments – mortgage and credit card – and we are watching some legitimate, and some flakes get all the help. We don’t qualify because we have been responsible. ” It’s a plan that won’t help speculators or that neighbor down the street who bought a house he could never hope to afford” couldn’t have done that without the okay by banks and mortgage companies-most citizens aren’t savvy to the trickery presented to snag them, “but it will help millions of Americans who are struggling with declining home values” –Declining values! We couldn’t give our home away as the realtors and brokers and banks are undercutting any poor citizen “Americans who will now be able to take advantage of the lower interest rates that this plan has already helped bring about.” Not to those who have spent every penny just keeping up and being responsible.” In fact, the average family who re-finances today can save nearly $2000 per year on their mortgage.” That is as funny as the one time payment of $250.00 to those on social security. Whoooa – a dinner and a concert with the worst seats for you Mr. President-maybe just a dinner costs more than $2,000. a night.

“Third, we will act with the full force of the federal government to ensure that the major banks that Americans depend on have enough confidence and enough money” hmmm. thought they already had been bailed out-time to give them more? to lend even in more difficult times. “And when we learn that a major bank has serious problems, we will hold accountable those responsible, force the necessary adjustments” what does that mean? oh it’s just more words, provide the support more money or a personal committee or staff? “to clean up their balance sheets, and assure the continuity of a strong, viable institution that can serve our people and our economy.”

“My budget does not attempt to solve every problem or address every issue.” Yes it does. you have taken on every issue and though you say you don’t want bigger government, it grows daily because of your fingers in all the pots “It reflects the stark reality of what we’ve inherited now” – now, let’s not look back again and play the blame game–” a trillion dollar deficit, a financial crisis, and a costly recession.the deficit and financial crisis is deepening,” and let’s see who is the recession costing? Corps not making their quarterly billions of dollar profits?

“But to truly transform our economy, protect our security, and save our planet stop manufacturers from making giant plastic containers and from using all the resources from the ravages of climate change, we need to ultimately make clean, renewable energy the profitable kind of energy. So I ask this Congress to send me legislation that places a market-based cap on carbon pollution and drives the production of more renewable energy in America. And to support that innovation, we will invest fifteen billion dollars a year” where is this coming from since we are up to our balls in debt “to develop technologies like wind power and solar power; advanced biofuels, clean coal, and more fuel-efficient cars and trucks built right here in America.” who is the hell is going to buy them? The poor are getting poorer. Oh I know, maybe we can get a bailout from the government. Maybe government employees will drop their chauffer
driven cars and buy new ones. we can’t afford it.

“As for our auto industry, everyone recognizes that years of bad decision-making and a global recession have pushed our automakers to the brink. We should not, and will not, protect them from their own bad practices.” Excuse me, didn’t we already bail some in that industry out right before they declared bankruptcy.

“In order to save our children from a future of debt, we will also end the tax breaks for the wealthiest 2% of Americans” what about the other 98% of the wealthiest Americans?. “But let me perfectly clear, because I know you’ll hear the same old claims that rolling back these tax breaks means a massive tax increase on the American people: if your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime. In fact, the recovery plan provides a tax cut – that’s right, a tax cut – for 95% of working families.” did you know that out of 500 milllion people only 99 million pay income tax? Whoope, a tax cut! As John Stossel says: GIVE ME A BREAK! “And these checks are on the way.” What checks?

Gas prices are going up radically again, forclosures are up, unemployment is up…and you are spending so much time on so many projects that the public is thrown off track – Wow. He sure is doing great. That is a matter of opinion.

Excuse me. I have to go throw up mr. president, I’ve heard it all before except it’s taken every president’s promises all combined to come up to your verbal agenda.

Would be great if I am wrong! Go back to work – you and all the politicians and your wealthy friends. I am an unhappy American and I am not alone.
I am a man who feels like his own president is just another liar.

So everyone, let’s hear your thoughts on this rebuttal to the president on his words. The “donor” of this post assures me the quotes are accurate. I did not spell check or change what he sent me so if there are errors -sorry!

Ralph Nader is American’s most renowned and effective crusader for the rights of consumers and the general public, a role that has repeatedly brought him into conflict with both business and government.

Ralph Nader was born in Winsted, Connecticut to Nathra and Rose Nader, Lebanese immigrants who operated a restaurant and bakery. Nader’s dream of becoming a “people’s lawyer” was instilled in him in adolescence by his parents, who in noisy free-for-alls, conducted family seminars on the duties of citizenship in a democracy. Mark Green, a former Nader associate, said that “When (the Naders) sat around the table growing up, it was like the Kennedys. Except that the subject was not power but justice.”

Following his graduation in 1951 from Gilbert School, Nader entered the Woodrow Wilson School of International Affairs at Princeton University. Graduating magna cum laude in 1955, with a major in government and economics, Nader enrolled in Harvard Law School. He became an editor of the Harvard Law Review, and after graduating with honors, set up a small legal practice and traveled widely.

The young attorney became distressed by the indifference of American corporations to the global consequences of their actions, and he began to speak out against the abuse of corporate power. He first made headlines in 1965 with his book, Unsafe at Any Speed, which took the auto industry to task for producing unsafe vehicles. Nader became an American folk hero when executives of General Motors hired private detectives to harass him and then publicly apologized before a nationally televised Senate committee hearing.

The consumer advocate went on to create an organization of energetic young lawyers and researchers (often called “Nader’s Raiders”) who produced systematic exposés of industrial hazards, pollution, unsafe products, and governmental neglect of consumer safety laws. Nader is widely recognized as the founder of the consumers’ rights movement. He played a key role in the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Freedom of Information Act and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. He has continued to work for consumer safety and for the reform of the political system through his group Public Citizen.
For many years, Ralph Nader has harshly criticized the two major political parties for preserving a campaign finance system that makes them both dependent on wealthy contributors. In 1996 he appeared on the ballot in some states as the Presidential candidate of the Green Party, but ran a largely symbolic campaign, making only a handful of public appearances to promote his candidacy. He made a more substantial effort in 2000, running nationwide as the candidate of the Green Party. He won nearly three million votes nationwide, close to three percent of the votes cast.

After the closest presidential election in American history, many Democrats blamed Nader for their loss of the presidency. They speculated that had Nader not entered the race, they would have won enough of Nader’s voters in either Florida or New Hampshire to shift the balance of electoral victory in their favor. Despite opposition from many of his previous supporters, Ralph Nader ran for president again as an independent candidate in 2004. In February 2008, he announced that he would officially enter the presidential contest for the fourth time, as an independent candidate. He lives and maintains his offices in Washington, DC.
