A Dream

February 8, 2018

I had a dream, and then another and another – night after night, month after month, year after year. Years turned to decades and I found myself dreaming, still.

Life changed the dreams from beautiful flights of fancy to tears sometimes. Everything in my waking hours turned to dreams. All memories bound together by darkness and restless eyes.

Dreams turned to acknowledgements, wisdom, wishes and the still hope lay in the path to fly again. I saw the future of the core of humans still aspiring, and of those who lost their way. I saw minds turn to stone and move like robots over the dying planet.

I had a dream. All the youthful errors were brought to light and the heart of my heart shone above all others on the browning planet. He was stable and like a rock. He was true, and I was his child and Spiritual friend. All others dissipated like fog in late morning.

I was old and disabled. I passed by a woman who scowled and resented everything. I told her to try to smile. I told her it would make all easier and love would come to her.

I watched young and robust and healthy young woman pivot and turn, with grace and ease. I cried for the exchange of freedom in movement to truth coming. I knew.

I dreamed of the multilevel domes they called stacks. I could see everything outside from within.
Across the glass bridge, everything was transparent and I ran and skipped across it and back to the dome.

Within the confines, which felt limitless, I found myself turning like the tiny ballerina on the music box, again and again I moved with the music in my mind. I spun around the top level of the dome, never faltering, never less than steady. When I stopped I looked at the sky outside and knew I would fly again soon.

“If I could just remember how”, I thought. “I would gently lift, and with my head tilted towards the sky I would put my arms back beside my body. then back further, with fingers together and hands relaxed, still parallel to my body, but behind it now, I would pick up speed and gentle altitude – between the old buildings, now higher in the sky.
Above the empty cities, turning with arms out to my side, above the mountains, above where the green and blue once joined in gentle landscape.”

I remember once I lifted and rose and left the earth.  I flew over the pasture.  I looked down and I was above the goats and cows, and the small farmhouse.  I could smell the fresh green grass and hear the creek below.  I could feel the breeze.  I don’t remember how I came back to my body, but there I lay, still awake in the bed. I listened to the barking of dogs. There were no drugs, no alcohol, yet I had, while fully awake, tasted freedom –  from a time I was restricted to bed to heal from injuries when I had been hit in my car.  I think it was a gift to still my restless heart and strengthen my faith.

I knew I would someday remember again. I was there already within my mind. I flew over small institution cubes where the workers could be monitored, and the core of the common man now lived. Everything had changed. I could see it was near the time.

I lived my life and learned all of it. I did not choose an easy end. I fulfilled my time with grace and still a soft heart.

I awoke and was glad my dreams had finally left me. For so many years in waking hours my mind lived in both the awake world and the dream world. I could not forget either.
But I was meant to learn my lessons and I was tenacious and hungry still for adventure.

I slept and dreamed. I awoke and the light was brilliant. I had seen so many faces in the walls, and floors. I could not be alone and awake, and daydream for a moment that the faces of multitudes did not appear to me.

I was glad to forsake my day on planet earth. I was glad to give up the freedom and treacheries of my dreams. I was glad to be without form in Spirit alone. I knew I was dead. I was finally “as it should be”; as it will be for all – as it is destined to be.

The sky was blue. The stars were really diamonds shining in rainbows of colors, and I could rest and bounce from cloud to cloud. I saw Spirits that had left me. I knew there were Spirits to come. I saw the Man of Sacrifice and Love, and He was the light, and His father still watched over it all. I knew it had been worth it all and I could not recall the time of pain and suffering.

I felt snuggled in love, embraced with truth. I could fly again. Home at last.

I awoke.

Understanding

January 25, 2018

Here is a thought on understanding. No one person has more pain than another. We all suffer in this life-time. Mental anguish, physical pain, both can be staggering, and both can disable a person.

Try as you may,  you will never be able to get directly into the mind of someone else, and have the same trials that they may face. We are all human, yet we are all different. We need to join together in understanding each person handles pain differently.

Some people can tolerate pain better than others, and some people may have no knowledge of the power we have within our minds to bear the burden and help heal our own pain.

Some pain will never diminish completely, and therefore we must adapt, we must use our wits about us to find acceptance and a way to handle it.

After all we are the ONLY one who knows our suffering aside from God. He will always help you to find a way to grow beyond your limitations, and still become that wonderful person from within.

Pray. Think in terms of “I am healing”, “I am doing the best I can”, “I can handle whatever happens”, and so forth. My mama gave me a great reason to keep going.  She said, “I must be strong for my children and my grandchildren.  I will make them proud of me, and prepare them for what may come.” She showed me by carrying herself with the strength of a mighty warrior, and rarely complaining.

Breathe. Think about your breathing and use this gift. You will create energy and relax simultaneously.  You will create pain medication from within, and will find, with practice,  you are able to divert your own attention from the pain, even perhaps, helping someone else who may be suffering.

Remember when you see someone with a weakened body, or injured, give their mind another reason to try….share a smile with them. Talk to them. Understand they may be struggling.  For as you give…..you SHALL receive.!  Create a day worthwhile with love and understanding.

Take a breath slowly in through the nose. Hold it. Visualize it helping you, and now exhale through the mouth slowly, visualizing pain and negativity dissipating as you exhale. Repeat this often. When you feel overwhelmed – breathe! Share the knowledge with someone and you will reap the rewards as well.

You are loved!

Good Morning!

August 22, 2017

GOOD MORNING! Good morning my brothers and sisters. To be writing and to be reading means we are alive and I say thank you Great Spirit, Creator beyond our understanding and comprehension……thank you! Counselor who never tires of hearing my prayers, and never leaves me.

You have given us heart and the ability to smile. You have given human beings the instant spark to be strong and open to helping others when the need is great.

You have given us strength of mind and body when tragedy comes upon us, to rise and to move onward and upward.

You are the song in my heart and the backbone in this tenacious and weary body. You have given me the power to move beyond my own ability and the drive to go on…

The mysteries of the skies and beauty of the wispy clouds that run across the warm of the sun, but for a moment, are wonders to behold.

You have given us an appetite to learn more about everything we see and touch.
Often I have given less than I was able because sometimes I am only human, and forget that I have you within me, to brighten my outlook and stretch beyond my limits.

You have given me faith. From whence it comes I know not, but like the ocean breeze it cools and wets my face awakening this beating heart to begin again.

With the light of the day my mind begins to challenge me to get up and move and make this fine instrument once again, regardless of the pressing in of life, open my arms and lift them to praise you for so many miracles that happen each moment, many of which we simply do not take the time or energy to recognize.

Like an old friend, I trust you to elevate my thoughts, strength my mind, bring peace and happiness from within and let it burst into fruition to add to life for me and those in my circle of life.

Thank you oh Great Spirit of forgiveness, patience, and love. Thank you for knowing I cannot understand it all. For that which does not come to me clearly – please forgive me. I will try again to make you happy in my creation, after all is said and done.

I was given so much, and all you ask is that I have faith and love.

My blessed Creator, you are the grandest of all, and yet I am free to address you and love you. Mysterious and amazing.

Lovingly, your humble servant,
Marsha

WELCOME and GOOD MORNING

July 28, 2017

Time is of the essence. Perhaps the written record of one lost life saved, is not going to rescue the masses or feed the hungry. I guess you could say the essence of my life has been God and survival. My story spans the lives of many people in the one earthly body. Time took me from one place to another, sometimes by chance, others by choice, and still others by the hand of God and path provided by Jesus Christ. I am still meandering across my destiny….but now the end of the rocky trail is in my sight.

I know having to take pain medication, to maintain a sense of wholeness, is not good for me.
I keep a tight watch so that I take it and it does not take me. I know taking something to sleep through the night takes a toll on my poor brain, but I need to sleep. My dreams may be affected – or perhaps it is the length and breadth of the story of my life invades me while I sleep.

I want to fly again in my dreams. I remember clearly. I know how from simply standing I elevate and then us my arms and body to maneuver…between the buildings, over the pasture, high above the fabric of incidents that weave the human state on this earth today. It will not be forever that I can’t remember how.

As I close my eyes I want to pray the earnest prayer of grateful appreciation to my Master.
I want, as I drift off to sleep to see the road moving as if I were walking, but I am just above walking….the trees change and are thick and exquisite on the sides and I look ahead unable to tell if it is the sun rising or setting. It is just at the point of color and size that it almost tricks the eyes. But I know today the sun sets with a glow that leaves light along the path.

I know it is setting because before the sun rises the birds awaken and sing first a light and breezy good morning, and then a choir to the morning with a multitude of individual, wonderful birds.

Its as if the sinking of the sun is making way for the fullest of moons to peek, almost melding as the sun sinks, the moon rises to light the sky – in the same place and at the same moment.

I am certain there are a plethora of untapped and unseen resources that can be available for us all, but now for only those who are given the eyes to see and the ears to hear.

Be thee careful of thy words. Words can give life and can harm life. Each word has a meaning and before the words are spoken they a formed with thought. Careless words can rip and tear like a madman with the sharpest of knives.

Of course we can heal. We have been given the best of instruments with specific talents given to no other creatures on this planet. But if given a choice I would rather have a physical injury that one offered up by cruel words. After all the years the physical has healed. The wounds inflicted by unworthy words heal the slowest of all, and will leave a tender scar within the heart…for words alert the heart and senses of what is, perhaps, to come. Be thee careful with thy words.

My intent as I began to write this was actually not to post this…ah but why not! There is no reason to stop now. I still have time and am able! Maybe someone will read and enjoy my words as much as I enjoy writing them! I have high hopes.

Have an amazing day. Stop for one moment and hug yourself. Look into a mirror past what you see, and say -“ I love me, I am supposed to love me. I am God’s one of a kind!. I appreciate all I try to do for others. It always feels good, though it seems there is never enough time.” And if no one said “Thank you” remember the good you do enhances YOU and is for
your growth and well-being. They may not have been taught to say thank you, they may not have thought to say thank you, or they may just be little selfish people – I say little intently.
Your heart and kindness is growing as I write – I just know it!

Love and blessings- Remember I mean things when I say or write or pray the words! So again, LOVE and BLESSINGS to you all! Thanks for taking time to be a part of me.

Don’t forget to praise any attempt from someone to do or say “good.”

How to Start a Fine Day

May 26, 2017

It’s easy.  Just pray!

“Good morning sweet Lord. You let me be a living soul just another day! Thank you.”
“I will try to be loving, forgiving and kind. I will smile, which will open my heart.”
“I will endeavor not to be judgmental, yet keep the laws you require.
You give me all the tools I need to keep my body healthy, and
My heart seeking your higher ways.”

“Forgive me, my Lord, for lost days, weakness and poor choices.
For excuses I made to enable me to walk the tight rope
between heaven and hell…Still your forgive me, most simply, because I believe in your Son.”

“I am excited now to see how I can make you glad you love me today .
I want you to be at ease with with your choice to make me your child.
With your loving rules and guidelines fresh in my mind, I will take a breath now,
And leave the world yesterday behind.””

Though I cannot comprehend the vastness and forever or you,
I am made in your image, and I know, the Spirit will help me get through.
Two requests I ask from deep within, forgive me not knowing it all, and not fully being able to comprehend the complexity of you and your Son.”

“I do read your Book, and study the Word. Somethings are easy,
and others still go beyond the ability of me to fully grasp the truths of this Book.”
“I will not give up, I will not give in – I will continue to seek your charity
(another word for love) – I will drop to my knees in gratitude, and raise my arms above, in praise.”

“Humbly I ask for those I love to open their eyes
For those that have a heart for you to quit listening to “their” lies.
Your children abound, even those who are yet to discover the peace and the life you offer to all.”

“Please kindly nudge them, before the great fall.
Humbly I thank thee, humbly I arise.
With the ultimate sacrifice of your precious Son in my mind,
with tears in my eyes – I now stand tall.”

“With your Spirit to guide me, and your power all around me – My heart implodes with fullness.
The place you give us all, reserved just for you and your Son – is my true heart. I have already won! I will smile. I will love. I will bounce with the true joy of YOU!
I will pass it forward, that is just what I will do.”

“I love you sweet Lord. I think of you all the time throughout the day. I will hold my tongue, love hard, and be on my way.!

“Amen. (So be it).”

Don’t forget to praise any attempt from someone to do or say “good.”

May 26, 2017

These are a few of my favorite things anyone has said to me in my entire life. I have tried to base my actions and my days on these things. I choose now to forget the “other” things people have said – I might cry!

Someone once told me I have the faint cracklings of a healer. I loved that. I would love to heal everything – people, scenarios, war and discontent, communication between people. I cannot of course – but I can keep trying.

My daughter told me once that I channel what I believe…I channel God. Now I know I have not always, for sure, been a true reflection, but it surely inspired me….and I keep trying. Never give up and never give in!

I was told that my presence, at that particular time, to that particular person, was that of an angel. I have been told that several times, and I would love that to aspire to that purity and character…Wasn’t that lovely? Of course I know I am not – but I fly in my dreams – and I know I could in this life, if I could just remember how!

My eldest son told me he was sorry for all the times he had been mean to me. I was shocked. I never thought a thing of it because we all have our “growth” spurts, and love is unconditional and forever in my mind. He said he guessed he was mean because all through his life I had always been there – in the good times, and in the very bad times. It touched my heart, though love never runs away because of fear or distress- or because of mean words.

More than once people have said, “I like your smile. It made me smile.” Cool. Less wrinkles to smile, more fun. But truthfully, I think I was born with a special “happy” gift – a positive outlook in the most stressful times. It wasn’t easy sometimes, but I have always endeavored to smile. Honestly……it is habit now, and why not! Better to enter any scenario with a smile than a scowl. What we do becomes habit. (That is one of the very important things I teach in stress management.). Get into the habit of working to be happy – even if it starts out poorly, you have the challenge to turn it around.

When I broke my back, was treated poorly and dismissed, and my back literally burst – I might have been broken in Spirit forever. I attribute my faith, as the biggest factor, and my “habit of working to be happy” somewhere just below that. We always have a choice.

While in rehab I had a physician saying the nicest thing to me. He said, “I wish I could bottle up what it is you have and sell it!” WOW. Not to be sold, I guess. Just CHOOSE to get into the HABIT of thinking in positive terms. Sounds too simple. It is. Also, I can never diminish the power of prayer. For those who have never REALLY believed it works – be dogmatic about prayer, and then KNOW it will work for the best, in one way or another. (Not always your choice, but always the best.

I have had a full life thus far, though most of it is behind me, I look forward to seeing what is next. I want me to be my best ever. I have learned from a thousand mistakes and poor choices, and from those incidents which were not even my fault!

I prayed for guidance last night and woke up to feeling inspired write. IF I am able, I allow myself an hour to pray, read and write upon waking. It is a delicious time! There has to be benefits to getting older…I love to write and hope the things I write are of some pleasure and USE to you! Life experiences are great teachers.
There isn’t ANYTHING you cannot rise above! Whatever happens – you have 100% choice in response. Onward and upward. Out of sight and unknown personally – I TRULY send you love and hope.

I could tell you so many terrible things I remember in my lifetime, but the thing about being human is that if we focus on the GOOD – look upward and move onward – and LEARN, we will blossom like a flower. I’d rather be a flower than a prickly cactus. Smiling is so much easier.

Do something for someone today (something little or big) and don’t tell a soul! It will be tempting to talk about it, but it is so much more exhilarating to have the deed between you and whomever you believe as a creator. The Creator watches.

If you don’t believe in a higher power, then silently think about the deed and be proud of your choice, amidst all the tension and delusion that is happening around the world. It will bring a smile to your face sometime-probably more than once. It’s good to share love.

And if you think of the horrible days and comments made to you, then STOP IT. That was then.
This is now. On your mark….get set….go! And as my daddy used to say, GOOD on you! 🙂

GETTING OLDER

March 13, 2017

Whoever coined the phrases “growing old gracefully” and “the golden years” should be strung up on the nearest tree!

I don’t know how you grow old gracefully when your body becomes less agile and your ability to stretch is limited because you are afraid you’ll “snap” like an old rubber band.

I have no idea if those years are golden as my eyesight is not as good as it once was, and the insurance I paid into all my life doesn’t cover glasses or teeth (and those are the first things to go!) That’s Medicare of course.

Somehow in my education I didn’t realize-but you’d better- over a hundred dollars will be deducted for part B, before you even get social security. Then of course you have to pay for a supplement each month because Medicare doesn’t cover everything. The tricky part is if Medicare won’t cover any part of a procedure; neither will the supplement you are paying for -to the tune of over $150. a month ( and that is considered cheap if you can find one for that low price.) However, if you break your back (like I did) a good plan will keep you from loosing everything because there will be no cost to you except the monthly payment.

By the way, once you apply for Medicare you get a non-stop snail mail box full of “life insurance applications for your family to have, and burial insurance so they won’t suffer from the cost when you croak. I mean it is non-stop. Thanks for reminding my life of this planet will soon be over. Didn’t have enough to think about!

I plan to be “taken care of” the cheapest way possible. – Burn baby burn. I won’t take up precious space on this planet to plant my body and have people come there to tearfully remember me. I would rather plant flowers there! Also, in my world to come, I trust God will know how to fix everything my poor body has suffered in this lifetime.

After so many years the body just starts to kind of give out, and you never know when or where it will happen. After the first injury or accident then everyone is afraid to let you do anything because you may fall again. (For me, specifically, my broken back). I don’t know if that’s because they worry about you, or because they don’t want to have to take care of you again….

No worries. I swear you’ll never hear “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” come from my mouth! Older people are usually spoken of as the butt of jokes. The ironic thing is one day those folks will be the butt of the jokes-for now they are just butts!

Heaven forbid you want to do something really fun — “It’s not a good idea.” “It’s too dangerous”. If I weren’t happily married I’d go out and have unprotected sex just for the danger factor. (NOT REALLY)

“It’s not a good idea to go barefooted.” “You’d better not get a dog.” “Watch what you eat.” “Etc, etc. etc.

Kill me now.

If you find you have to use a walker, you will also discover the most humbling time of your life. We take walking for granted, like breathing, until we can’t. Never take one of these gifts for granted. But if you wind up on a walker, be grateful for it, and make sure you have a phone attached, and a basket so you can function at least minimally!

When you find you need to use a cane because some uncaring medical people left you out in the cold until you are in permanent disrepair, don’t worry about accidentally forgetting it…everyone will remind you that you need to take the cane.

The baggers at the grocery store begin to call you ma’am, and ask if you need help carrying one bag to the car. Don’t be foolish, take the help and save your energy for fun. Besides you will have conversations with many people who help you, and sometimes be grateful for the communication. Teenagers look at you like you have already died, and of course lost your mind way before that!

When you hear a whistle you know it’s just some older person grasping at the talent of whistling. “Whistling” – a talent once appreciated – long ago!. You know it’s not a “whistle” meant for you because you are so sexy and have such a stunning figure. I still am cute as a button though. I keep reminding my husband of that, planting a gentle seed.

Everything drops. What they don’t tell you if your feet get bigger too, and all the hair that used to grow on your legs just grows on your face now!

I don’t feel guilty about not being Martha Stewart in the housekeeping department, I will go outside and sit in the sun (still with book in hand) and read to my heart’s content. With my glasses off my home is perfectly dust free. With your husbands glasses off your wrinkles will hardly be noticeable.

What is “grandma in a box”? Well it’s not a coffin I’ll tell you that! I was going to wrap me in a box in birthday paper and surprise my granddaughter for her birthday. With my luck I probably would have suffocated and surprised her with grandma falling to the floor dead! Not a good surprise. Either that or be so stiff I would be permanently unable to move from being stuffed in the box.

When you turn 65 – face it – you may still feel 45 in your mind – but the REAL prejudice is against those of us who live long enough to be known as “the old folks, old people, our elderly, the over the hill gang, seniors (say isn’t a senior in high school or college someone to be looked up to and revered?)

I could write a book about it all, but just to let you know – my wits are about me! My memory is as sharp as ever. I am still the captain of my ship and God the Master of my mind. I really am still “too sexy for my shirt”, and my cane doubles as a weapon so that if anyone pulls any crap on me I can beat them to death with it – and I wouldn’t hesitate.

I don’t hold back and just “be nice” – IF someone deserves to be told off I will do it with wit and class – but I will do it. I don’t hold anything inside. I dress exactly the way I want to, and love the freedom.

When no one is looking (ha ha) I will do what I damn please and take any risk I opt to…why not? There isn’t too much I haven’t done in my life (a lot I wish I hadn’t done), and what the heck is the difference. It could kill me?

No one knows when they are through with being on this earth – at best my life is less than two decades, and so if you see me flying through the air with some young stud attached to my back, don’t be surprised!

I probably will be holding tight to my husband, whom I still adore, sitting behind him on his Harley, going a 100 miles an -hour down some back road!

Life doesn’t have to be over just because you have aged like a fine, fine wine! Or better yet in my case, an aged bottle of good whiskey! One that gives warmth to your innards, and a glow on your cheeks.

Keep your sense of humor. If you’ve lost it, find it and right away before you forget what you are looking for…..and smile!

Here is the Confession

September 6, 2016

Here is the confession. Since my accident and incidents therein,

Too often I fall into deep depression.

I know in cyberspace there are fellow humans of like mind,

sometimes we search for answers, but answers do not find.

There is nothing shameful about having depression you see,

It happens in this lifetime, next door and across the sea,

It happens to us all -to you, and even me.

We are human. We feel love, terror, and pain, trauma.

Depression can hit us all – depression is not drama!

I awoke this morning covered with sorrow like dense fog.

Unable to find the departure, chained like a wild dog.

“What is the purpose of life?” I thought. My life is changed forever, and not for better.

I had a pity party – a pitiful one – no one came.

It was only I, raging like I was waging a war against myself.

Then praying, while rather insane, I placed my mind upon a shelf.

At last I thought, I knew what to do. Divert my own attention to something else……and maybe you should too.

So I left the room I was working in, took a breath or two and dropped to my knees.

“Give me help dear Lord, I prayed, let my heart feel at peace, if you please.”

Here I lay in bed, with laptop resting on my legs.

Writing simple poetry, trying to turn a phrase.

If I dwell on my sorrow, and cry and whimper, I will to hell cross the line,

Then I won’t smile or have joy in this moment of time.

All we have is this moment to live,

I must turn my thoughts not to get, but to love and to give.

I lay here and realize I still can write.

I can see in the daytime, and find rest at night.

Within there is a flicker of my light that should shine for many reasons I know.

I will find a few to jostle my memory, and wrestle depression with strength just to show….

I can DO whatever I think I can! My sorrows are few compared to many a man.

I do not know how much I time I have left to look at my life – nor days to enjoy.

I want to be an example of faith and of love,

I will keep praying for power from that of above.

I AM better already, can you read and see? Like I would with a child who needs help,

I diverted my own attention, and the task set me free.

Change your thoughts, change your emotions.

Use your wits to climb from the pits.

You may think this a silly poem, and some might think it not a poem at all.

But by taking the time to write it I kept myself from a major fall!

Do not stumble, do not muddle your thoughts to far worse than it is!

Now what was the stress management technique I used?

Ah, yes,….this is a quiz!

Simple and easy what to do – divert your attention – and God will bless you!

This is a post I have republished before….HUMOR. My girlfriend’s complaints about aging.

August 26, 2016

Why is the only hair on my body that hasn’t turned gray the long black hair growing from my nose?

Why didn’t anyone ever tell me that not only would everything “drop” as I aged, but my feet would also get bigger?

Why was I only told my bones would get weaker as I aged, and not that I would grow bony protrusions and knobby outgrowths everywhere on my body?

Why didn’t anybody tell me I would not only gain more wisdom than ever in my lifetime, but no body would listen to me?

How did I somehow miss that men not only loose their hair and get a receding hairline – but women often do as well?

I thought only Pinocchio’s nose grew bigger.

Why is it when you successfully age with good health no one will honor that with reasonable life insurance…every year I stay healthy my insurance rates go up!

You know the joy of having less hair to shave on your legs when you age is diminished by the fact all that hair grows on your face.

“Smile wrinkles” show you are happy. That’s crap. Just another group of wrinkles on your face.

I can eat the same food I always did, exercise the same, and still, when I look into the mirror I can see the fat accumulating on my stomach, hips and thighs. If I try to loose weight more wrinkles appear – gain it – my boobs hang down even further.

Shirley Temple can have dimples.   I am sick of the dimples all over my body. And no matter what anybody tries to sell you – they will never go away once you have them!

Okay stop eating candy and rub cream all over your legs. The dimples will still increase and you won’t get to eat your sugar quota or have the money to buy it!

Being a grandma is great. Being the built in baby sitter isn’t.

I was in the yard picking up dog poop (with a shovel of course), and also getting rid of mushrooms that grow wild and can be poisonous to dogs. . “Ah ah”, I thought, “two of those huge mushrooms right in front of me.” I picked them up, and to my dismay, it was two firm pieces of dog poop! One thing about not using your glasses when you get older is you don’t see as well without them.

The next time I went out, it was with glasses on. I love autumn – all the colors, and the crunch of leaves beneath my feet. What I don’t love is picking up dog poop with my hand for the second time, thinking it was acorns! Guess it’s time to get new glasses.

I went to the doctor a few days ago. I knew I would be hooked up to acupuncture needles and laying flat on my tummy for 30 minutes, so I thought since I was loaded with nasty gas, I would step into the hall and relieve myself quickly before being called in. I looked to the right and up the stairs and released a loud and long fart. I had forgotten to look to the left – there was a woman a couple of feet away on her cell phone. I tried to pretend it didn’t happen and slipped back into the office quickly.

I remember when I was married to an ass, one time we were at our son’s pack meeting for cub scouts, sitting in the very back of a crowed room. He thought he would be funny and let a loud and enormous fart and turned to me and called my name loudly – and indignantly…. as if I’d done it. Everyone looked at me. Some giggled and others looked disgusted. He paid for that one later.

Why is it my nose is running all the time now, and with no place to go. The world gets more enclosed as you get older. Most people walk by and go “Ugh, an old person.” They try to get away quick as if they will catch being old. Well here is the news people, if you don’t get old you are dead!

I saw a commercial with two old people flirting, dancing and kissing. Even I was appalled. Take it to a motel, and make it one with no mirrors on the closet doors – follow the new adage – “what happens in the motel, stays in the motel.”

Lastly in my list of complaints about aging…I think the funniest of all. My girlfriend said she didn’t have her glasses on and she brushed her teeth with hemorrhoid cream. She said it made her gag and almost throw up. That’s not the funniest thing about this – she did it twice.! WEAR YOUR GLASSES GIRLFRIEND!
